''The time has come,' the Walrus said'To talk of many things;
Of shoes-and-ships-and sealing-wax
Of cabbages and kings-
And why the sea is boiling hot-
And whether pigs have wings?...
''O, Oysters' said the Carpenter
'You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?"
But answer came there none-
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.''

Unlike the Walrus and the Carpenter from the Lewis Carol poem, we at the Walrus like to feed our customers well, rather than the other way round!!
All our food is freshly cooked by our chefs on the premises. We pride ourselves on the quality and freshness of our ingredients. Our meat is either free-range or organic, and everything is sourced from local suppliers.
Our signature beef burgers, are made from 100% beef to a recipe that we have
used for over 30 years. Our local butcher makes them up and delivers them to us daily! There are loads of toppings and you can choose between ¼ or ½ lbs. All our burgers can come with chips or salad or if you are really hungry you can have both!
For the vegetarians amongst you, we offer a wide selection of vegetarian food, such as spinach lasagne and our famous nutloaf with a creamy mushroom and watercress sauce. We also make a very tasty vegetarian burger.
At the Walrus, there is something for everyone. Our Malaysian Chicken Curry or yummy Beef Stroganoff (made with beef fillet) are both firm favourites. And for true carnivores, we do a great job of grilling both sirloin and rump steaks just the way you like them.
Fresh cabbage, shredded with some grated carrots and a good dollop of home-made mayonnaise is how we at the Walrus create our famous coleslaw. Many of our homemade meals come with our coleslaw along with our other great salads including a fab honey and ginger broccoli, homemade potato or some fruity couscous. Salads change according to what's fresh!
Let's not forget the little ones! Children are always welcome and we do special children's portions for smaller appetites.
For afters, we make some of the best desserts around! Homemade cakes, our apple pie, lemon cheesecake and Marshfield Dairies ice creams (including a fab sundae made with honey and nuts) should help you finish your meal in style.
But for chocolate lovers (you know who you are…), you can't get much more chocolaty than our Chocolate St Emillion. Amaretti biscuits soaked in brandy and smothered in chocolate...just wonderful!
To drink, why not try one of our famous Dean Martini cocktails. A couple of our favourites include the Peach Dalek, dry and dangerous, Peach Schnapps, Bacardi, Southern comfort and fresh lime. Or the Screaming Organism…….no it's not a typo! A climactic blend of Amaretto, Kahlua, Baileys, vodka and fresh milk...worth having any time!
We also have an extensive wine list with something for everyone. Choose your wine from France, Chile, Australia, South Africa, Italy, Argentina and Spain. We also have bottled beers and Bath Ales, and a great selection of soft drinks. Our homemade milkshakes are a particular favourite with children and adults alike.
Both our Walrus and Carpenter restaurants are anything but conformist, with tables covered with gingham, candles in bottles and fresh flowers. They are very romantic but great for parties too! Our service is designed to relax, and you can guarantee an eclectic selection of music playing in the background.
So book your visit soon, as we really look forward to welcoming you in either Bath or Bristol. We are sure your first visit to either restaurant will leave you feeling as welcomed and satisfied as our loyal regulars tell us they do.
